Restaurant-Café In de Waag

There's a part of Amsterdam that never sleeps: Nieuwmarkt. In the middle stands the Weigh House or Waag. Originally built in 1488, this characteristic monumental structure now houses Restaurant-Café In de Waag. The ideal place in the heart of Amsterdam for a lunch, reception, meeting or dinner. This magnificent historic building with it's constrained yet informal interior design is lit by 300 candles. A combination that ensures a unique atmosphere.

Restaurant-Café In de Waag is open every day. From 10.00 in the morning, you’re welcome for a cup of coffee and an appleschnitt. Sandwiches, soups, salads and cakes are available until 16.00 in both the café and restaurant sections. For more details check the extensive lunch menu. From 15.30 there’s a choice of light snacks to accompany drinks. From 17.00 in the evening, when the candlelight atmosphere is at its best, a choice of excellent dishes is served in the restaurant.

The menu is regularly revised to encompass a wide range of meat, fish and vegetarian recipes. Those recipes are to be specified as Mediterranean kitchen, with a typical Dutch influence. They offer a wide range of different menu's, like the a-la-carte menu's for lunch and dinner and the drinks and snacks-menu. Separate rooms and à-la-carte.
The restaurant is designed to accommodate individual diners for small groups as well for large groups for lunch or dinner. The three attractive rooms are ideal locations for private parties. Those rooms can also be booked for a dinner-meeting. The maximum capacity of the restaurant is 160 people inside and about 100 people on the terrace.
