De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam is famous for its much talked-about exhibitions. With hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, the church is one of the most highly attended exhibition locations in the Netherlands. The monumental Nieuwe Kerk building is well worth a visit. The coronation of the Head of State as well as the national Remembrance Day service on 4 May takes place here. In 1980, Queen Beatrix was officially inaugurated in De Nieuwe Kerk. The wedding of the Prince of Orange and Princess Máxima was held here in 2002.
