Ámsterdam, ciudad de la moda
Quizá no sea tan famosa como París o Milán, pero Ámsterdam también marca tendencia. Ámsterdam y moda parecen ser la combinación perfecta. Si algo caracteriza a esta ciudad, es su espíritu liberal y tolerante, y esto garantiza una sociedad donde la creatividad y la innovación están en contínuo desarrollo. Amsterdam International Fashion Week
La Amsterdam International Fashionweek (AIFW) se organiza dos veces al año (enero y julio). Es el podio de presentación para los jóvenes diseñadores con talento. Haciendo honor a la ciudad donde se celebra, se aparta intencionalmente de las tendencias establecidas que se siguen en las ciudades prominentes de la moda. Así, las pasarelas se encuentran distribuidas por el centro de la ciudad, y se presta gran atención a otros eventos satélite también muy interesantes, como conferencias, exposiciones y fiestas.
Redlight Fashion
Desde el pasado enero, De Wallen se ha convertido en un escaparate de moda. Lo que antes fueron escaparates de prostíbulos, han sido transformados en espacios para los jóvenes diseñadores de moda, calzado y pret-a-porter. El proyecto detrás de esta iniciativa se llama Redlight Fashion Ámsterdam. El objetivo es ofrecer espacios de promoción a los diseñadores de la ciudad para que expongan sus creaciones al público. Desde luego es un proyecto original, pero va a ser difícil explicarle a su esposa donde le ha comprado ese vestido tan bonito...
