Proef is a modern, ‘brown’ pub on the Overtoom that also serves food. It is not a shabby old beer drinking place nor a hip wine bar but definitely a spot where wine and beer is the main attraction. Dining takes place in a separate room with wooden church pews. Here, one can experiment with 20 kinds of beer, 15 different wines and 20 types of whisky. There are side orders of nice snacks that are reasonably priced: a cold avocado soup for example, or an organic steak.
