Barney´s Uptown in the Haarlemmerstraat is something completely different than its namesake on the other side of the street. The latter Barney´s offers, for the most part, cannabis, whereas the Uptown variant is a bar where one can eat. Barney’s Uptown is, however, a bit of a tourist trap: the prices are on the high side and there is Barney´s merchandise available carrying its sunshine logo. Nevertheless, the locals do tend to turn up regularly for the champagne breakfast, good tunes and mean cocktails.
