Bar Americain

The bar of the stunning art deco American Hotel on the Leidseplein is not quite so chic as most hotel bars, in fact it’s a bit naf. Nevertheless, sometimes world celebrities turn up, and the walls are hung with photos to prove it. The likes of Lenny Kravitz, ZZ Top and Eric Clapton have all passed by for a drink. It is also crowded with business people, hotel guests and Amsterdam residents drinking the specialty of the house: cocktails. During the summer they have a great terrace in front, facing a stone fountain.
