The 2nd annual Amsterdam Burlesque Festival will be held on 18, 19 and 20 November, 2010. The festival is set to showcase over 50 world class entertainers at Amsterdam’s Panama, highlighting international support for this risqué cabaret style.
Teasing and titillating the Amsterdam audience this November, producers of the 2nd annual Amsterdam Burlesque Festival have organised the extravaganza into three categories; classic burlesque, circus sideshow and variety acts.
Taking place this year at Panama, the festival will feature a hand selected cast of performers from Holland and beyond, brought to you by two of the biggest names in the International Burlesque Scene, Chaz Royal (producer of the London Burlesque Festival) and Holland's most recognised and celebrated Burlesque performer, Miss Beeby Rose.
The Twisted Cabaret on Friday 19 November will showcase performances that veer from avant-garde to neo-burlesque, from performance art to bizarre and grotesque. It's an evening sure to bend your senses and tickle your nightmares!
On stage in 2009 were local gals who turn heads on the Amsterdam circuit, the likes of duo the Bombshelly's, Lady Marmalade and Natsumi Scarlett, to international names Chrys Columbine (UK), Tamara the Trapeze Lady (US - pic), Sugar Kane (FIN) and Amsterdam Burlesque Fest's co-producer Miss Beeby Rose.
Other talents included Danica Lee (AUS), Miss Anne Thropy (FRA) and Honour Mission (UK), Inga Ingenue (US), Xarah von den Vielenregen (GER) and Lada Redstar (FRA).
Pin-ups and starlets will add colour to the highly anticipated premiere at Panama night club on Thursday 18 November, with lingerie fashion shows and a star studded revue. The night will showcase an array of local and international burlesque and variety entertainment at it's best!
Accompanying Miss Beeby Rose in presenting the festival is Chaz Royal (pictured together), organiser of the London Burlesque Festival. As Chaz sees it, "Now is the perfect time to celebrate the different eras of the art form with veterans and newcomers alike."
The festival not only showcases international talent but highlights the local newcomers to a wider audience and will hold workshops to welcome those interested in getting involved who didn't know where to start - is there an inner vixen waiting to come out?
Tickets vary from €12,50 to €40,00.
