AIFW: Summer DOWNTOWN edition
The AIFW summer edition hits Amsterdam in mid July 2012. Showcasing the finest in fresh European style, the Amsterdam International Fashion Week's public programme 'DOWNTOWN' turn the city's streets into a catwalk and the bars into glamourous parties.
Downtown, down to earth
The fashion industry can be a lot of pomp and posturing with enough air kisses to keep a pair of parachute pants inflated but Amsterdam's easy-going attitude doesn't allow a lot of snobbery.
Rightly so, the DOWNTOWN section of the AIFW recognises the importance of the people, bringing the catwalk to the streets, the bars, and fashion stores and sharing the fashion with the people.
