Most shops and museums are open in the centre of town on Good Friday and both Easter days. Markets, including the city’s largest market, Albert Cuyp, will be open on Good Friday and Saturday 7 April. The Flower Market is also open on Good Friday, perfuming the Metropolis with the sweet scent of blooming spring flowers.
Food lovers can visit the organic food markets on Noordermarkt and Nieuwmarkt to stock up for a picnic in the park. The Pure Market is also a great day out for the whole family. On Easter Sunday (8 April), it takes place at the Amstelpark.

On Sunday 8 April, Bijlmerweide petting zoo in Amsterdam hosts an Easter party with an egg hunt, egg painting, lemonade and more. Around Easter, farms in the Amsterdam area hold "lamb days" where kids can cuddle and feed newborn lambs .
