Amsterdam Mardi Gras
King’s Day may not officially be a ‘pink event’, but you may form a different opinion after visiting one of the well-known gay spots in Amsterdam on 27 April. Together with Gay Pride during the first week in August, King’s Day is just one of Amsterdam’s two Mardi Gras.
King's Day events in Amsterdam
King’s Day fun is spread throughout the city with the main gay celebrations traditionally being held at locations including the Reguliersdwarsstraat, along the Amstel between Muntplein and Waterlooplein, on the Westermarkt by the Homomonument as well as on the Warmoesstraat and Zeedijk.
From about midday until late in the evening, these areas are usually home to vibrant parties filled with music and thousands of pink - and orange - men and women on the street. And, if you can't wait until then, check out what's happening across the city on King's Night.
