Photography festival in Amsterdam

Unseen Photo Festival has grown into a 10-day celebration of photography in Amsterdam. The festival takes place at more at diverse locations and collaborates with many of the city’s institutions, academies, artists and initiatives using photography in innovative and unconventional ways to create a programme that is sure to challenge, excite and inspire. Just some of the typical partners include the Stedelijk Museum, Huis Marseille, Eye Filmmuseum, Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam, Vlaams Cultuurhuis de Brakke Grond, and Huize Frankendael.

Exciting photographic developments

In 2016, the core of the Unseen Photo Festival takes place around the Spaarndammerbuurt neighbourhoud, north of Westerpark. Some of the highlights already announced include an exhibition curated by Anton Corbijn, a presentation in an outdoor swimming pool and a collection of contemporary Japanese photography. The festival will also forge a base at Museum Het Schip, exploring a theme of craftmanship.
