The Van Loon family of the famed Dutch East Indian Company travelled in style. Around 1900 they commissioned a carriage in the colours of the family crest which became known as The Golden Carriage of Louis Van Loon. To celebrate its recent restoration, the coach is on display at Museum Van Loon as part of an exhibition called The State Coach in the Netherlands along with paintings and documents from the family archives.
