24H Amsterdam is an opportunity to experience the city in new ways. Its West edition took place on 12 & 13 March 2016, showcasing the best of the west of Amsterdam.
In the second weekend of March 2016, Amsterdam West was the place to be. 24H West offered a varied programme with many Amsterdam residents enjoying diverse activities, such as a tour through the Kesbeke factory, the only producer of real Amsterdam pickles. Other events attracting many visitors included a ‘calligraffiti’ workshop in the Street Art Museum, crafts to the max in the Student Hotel, a programme at the creative centre and pop-up mall Lola Luid, a private concert on one of Cityhub's hotel beds and a beautiful ‘silent concert’ in Jan's Hidden Garden. In the evening, a winter burlesque show was presented to an enthusiastic public in Rasalila, and many joined the monster hunt over at the Sloterplas lake, organised by Watersportcentrum Sloterplas. The night became noisy with a dive in the Sportplaza Mercator’s swimming pool, followed by the BoLobooze pub crawl through ‘BoLo’ (Bos en Lommer). The real die-hards let loose at the 23-hour Radion Weekender. The next day, early birds began their Sunday with an anti-hangover yoga session in Podium Mozaiek or embraced their inner child at the Woeste Westen outdoor adventure playground. All in all, it was a great, sunny spring weekend!
