Ice skating locations in Amsterdam

Skating over Amsterdam’s frozen canals is a magical winter experience – made even more special by the fact that it’s not possible every year. The temperature generally needs to drop to -4°C or below for 4 consecutive nights to produce ice thick enough to skate on. If the conditions look right, boat traffic is blocked from certain canals to allow the water to freeze. Fingers crossed that the same happens this year!
