Museum Van Loon
Museum Van Loon is the residence of Amsterdam's Van Loon family. Willem van Loon was one of the founders of the Dutch East India Company (the V.O.C.) The museum is housed in a double canal house that dates back to 1672. Most of the interior has remained intact throughout the centuries.

Dutch Eastindiaman The
The 18th-century Dutch Eastindiaman The Amsterdam lies next to NEMO museum. Or at least a replica of it, because the original was wrecked during a violent storm in 1749. Until the middle of 2009, The Amsterdam will be moored next to NEMO while the Maritime Museum undergoes extensive refurbishment. You can visit The Amsterdam on its own or in combination with a NEMO ticket.

Museum Our Lord in the Attic

Willet-Holthuysen Museum
The Willet-Holthuysen museum in Amsterdam had an interesting start. In 1895 Mrs Willet-Holthuysen bequeathed her 17th-century canal house to the city of Amsterdam in her will, on the condition that it was preserved and opened as a museum. Her wish has been faithfully observed for over a century - the house has been turned into a beautiful museum.

The Royal Palace Amsterdam
The Royal Palace Amsterdam is one of the three palaces in use by the Royal family. It is used for state visits, award ceremonies and other official receptions. When the Royal Palace is not used by the family, it is open to the public. Visitors can discover the rich history of the building. It’s various purposes, 150 years as a Amsterdam’s city hall, five years as a Royal and Imperial Palace, and almost two centuries as a palace of reception by the Royal family, have left their marks on the building. A variable annual summer exhibition illustrates the rich history of the building, for instance as a monument from the Dutch Golden Age. Every fall, the work of young painters is on exhibition in light of the Royal Award for Free Painting.
