New Land

Although famous for its historic city centre, the Amsterdam region is always evolving as new immigrants and diverse cultures make their mark on many neighbourhoods. But probably the most dramatic changes have taken place in the province of Flevoland.

Architecture & nature

Just north east of Amsterdam, these polders were reclaimed from the sea, giving birth to the new cities of Almere and Lelystad. Not only are they internationally acclaimed playgrounds for architecture and design, they are also blessed with expanses of wild nature on the doorstep.
