Van Gogh Inspires: Matisse, Kirchner, Kandinsky

How did Vincent van Gogh influence the generation of artists that followed him? This exhibition highlights 14 pieces from the renowned Merzbacher Collection to explore how art movements, including Fauvism and expressionism, were influenced by Van Gogh’s works. Van Gogh Inspires runs at the museum until 27 November 2016.
Daubigny, Monet, Van Gogh: Impressions of Landscape
Charles François Daubigny had a strong influence on Vincent van Gogh and impressionists such as Monet, Pissarro and Sisley. With this new exhibition, museumgoers can see an overview of the French artist’s development. By understanding the work of Van Gogh and the impressionists, visitors will gain an insight into Daubigny, his working methods and his artistic vision. Daubigny, Monet, Van Gogh: Impressions of Landscape runs at the Van Gogh Museum from 21 October 2016 to 29 January 2017.
