Amsterdam Tourist Ferry

Step on board one of Amsterdam Tourist Ferry's traditional boats and visit two unique Unesco World Heritage Sites close to Amsterdam: fortress island Pampus and the medieval Castle Muiderslot.

Discover the Defence Line of Amsterdam

The Defence Line of Amsterdam is a circular defence around Amsterdam. Sail to two unique parts of the Defence Line: fortress island Pampus, built to defend Amsterdam against attacks from the entrance of the former Zuiderzee, and Castle Muiderslot, a medieval castle. Both these historic locations have guided tours and a restaurant.

Travel information

The boats leave from Amsterdam Tourist Ferry's jetty in Amsterdam's newest district IJburg. All boats are equipped with a bar, heating and toilets. You can even take your bike on board and discover the surrounding Amsterdam countryside, including the Vecht region. A return trip takes just over four hours.

Saturday April 1, we start again! We will then sail to Pampus and Muiderslot every weekend again. In May, June, July and August, we sail 4 days a week!

From 1 April to 29 October, the ferry service sails every weekend.

Departure every Saturday & Sunday at 10.45 am.

From 4 May to 3 September, there are extra departures on Thursdays and Fridays at 10:45.

The boat can be booked on the website.

Head to the Amsterdam Tourist Ferry website for more information, or download the Brochure Veerdienst Amsterdam.
