World Cinema Amsterdam unites the cream of Latin American, Asian and African cinema in a single festival running from 12 to 22 August.
Indoor and open-sir screenings
A range of more than fifty standard and short films will be screened at Amsterdam's Rialto cinema and free open-air screenings will be held at the Marie Heinekenplein in the Pijp district of the city.
Triple programme
The festival features three programme elements: Mexican Landscapes, the World Cinema Audience Award and World Cinema Open Air. And alongside the film action, there's also live bands & DJs and delicious Mexican drinks and snacks on offer.
Revolucion
On Friday 13 August theme Mexican Landscapes opens with film Revolucion. Tackling the subject of the 100th anniversary of Mexico's revolution, ten directors make ten short films about how modern life has been altered by the revolution. The film features actors Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna among others.
