Wearable technology? Powered art and fashion design

Wearable technology: Joanna Berzoswka
The latest developments in science and fashion. Cross-overs between fashion, design, performance, technology and interaction design.

The selected works give a futuristic vision where our second skin - our clothes - are an integral part of our social life in the areas of communication and interaction with our environment. This is achieved by seamlessly putting electronics into textiles.
As processors, sensors and batteries have shrunk considerably in size over the years, designers are only too willing to apply them in their expressive and performative garments, which moves beyond our everyday experience. And as the artists use the same technologies, their work has a dual purpose: visualizing the information density and the invisible data stream surrounding us.

The exhibition includes wearables by Laura Beloff / Erich Berger / Elina Mitrunen, Elena Corchero, Margarete Jahrmann, Sarah Kettley, Di Mainstone, Barbara Layne et al.
