Velenzo Rijwielfabriek (Velenzo Bicycle Factory)

Groepsfoto ter gelegenheid van een jubileum van de fietsenfabriek Velenzo. Vooraan een fotoportret van de jong gestorven Jakob Velleman Amsterdam, 1935. Collectie JHM
Photos and objects from the rich history of the bicycle factory and wholesale shop, which was founded by Max Velleman (1886-1962). Velenzo stands for Velleman and Son, referring to Max Velleman and his son Jakob, who died very young (1907-1929).

The family moved to Amsterdam in 1907, and the shop was situated first on Harlemmerstraat, later on Geldersekade and finally, in 1932, to the Prins Hedrikkade, where it would remain until its closure in 1985. Its last owners were Harry and Max Philips, grandsons of Max Velleman.
