Tyva Kyzy

'The Daughters of Tuva' (Tyva Kyzy) are among the first women in the still very traditional Tuvan community who perform chöömei, overtone singing. Like shamanism, this art was traditionally reserved for men only. The singers of Tyva Kyzy command all styles, from high (sygyt) to low (kargyraa), and also play a great number of traditional instruments.
