The killing of a Chinese bookie

Nightclub owner Cosmo Vitelli (Ben Gazzara) is a lover of beautiful women and a compulsive gambler. He is indebted to the mafia, which compels him to a liquidation. Vitelli, always dressed in immaculate white three-piece, does this laconically. Cassavetes' thriller on the dark side of LA is an intriguing portrait of a showman who even in miserable conditions retains his sense of style.
