Stanley Greene - Black Passport

Black Passport - Foto: Stanley Greene NOOR

Simultaneously an exhibition and a portrait of the artist, Black Passport is both by and about the American conflict photographer Stanley Greene. The exhibition provides a great deal of insight in the lifestyle and mindset connected to Greene's profession.

Professional and private life

Stanley Greene (New York, 1949) has photographed in regions such as Chechnya, Iraq, Rwanda and Sudan and is one of the founders of the international photo agency NOOR. The Black Passport project combines photos he's taken in conflict zones and disaster areas with photos of Greene's private life.

Adrenaline and sacrifices

The resulting exhibition is a revealing portrait of a photographer who is addicted to the adrenaline rush of constantly being on the move, but who also realises how many sacrifices in his personal life he has to make to accomplish this.
