Acclaimed art in Amsterdam
Amsterdam's Museum Van Loon presents a major new exhibition featuring work by acclaimed French artist Laurence Aëgerter entitled Seek and Hide. The exhibition runs from 28 May to 11 July 2010.

Laurence Aëgerter
Laurence Aëgerter (1972, Marseille, France) studied Art History in Amsterdam before studying Fine Art at the Rietveld Academy. The exhibition in Museum Van Loon is her first solo exposition in a Dutch museum.

Le Louvre
Aëgerter's photograph series Le Louvre (2008) will take pride of place on the first floor of the building. The series features visitors seen from behind as they view paintings by the Old Masters.

Intimate setting
Hanging on the Museum Van Loon walls, these works will have an even stronger alienating effect than on regular plain white museum walls - the modern style of contemporary visitors form an exciting contrast with Canaletto's vistas and Chardin's still lifes.

Aëgerter will use the historic Van Loon house as inspiration for new work which will be displayed in the Beletage of the museum.
