Sail in the Showcases

To tie in with Sail 2010, the Amsterdam Public Library (OBA) presents an exhibition featuring ships in bottles and nautical instruments combined with books drawn from their own collection.

How does it get in there?

Sea dogs of old tended to have a lot of time on their hands, and what better way to kill the hours than by building miniature ships and ships in bottles. Come along to Sail in the Showcases and try and work out how the ships magically sail into the bottles.

The exhibition runs from 15 July to 31 August. In collaboration with the Ships in Bottle Museum in Enkhuizen and L.J. Harri. Nautical Trading Company.
