Pop Arts Festival: Screaming Object

Pop Arts Festival: Screaming Object

As part of the Pop Arts Festival, the international festival for puppet and object theatre, mime and dance, this abstract combination of dance performance and object theatre challenges the audiences expectations of stage arts.

Screaming Object

In Screaming Object, a collaboration of Duda Paiva and Maurício de Oliveira, a dancer wearing a mask creates the illusion of a sculpture that's coming to life and assumes unpredictable forms in the process. The dancer and the object become one, and two clashing worlds unite in an abstract dance.

Pop Arts Festival

The annual Pop Arts Festival presents the latest developments in the world of international puppet and object theatre, dance and mime. More than 20 performances, showcases and workshops by groups from Belgium, Germany and France take place in the three festival locations: Theater Bellevue, De Krakeling and Ostadetheater, as dancers, mime players, actors and visual artists take over for one week, staging grotesque puppets, bizarre animations and challenging miniatures.
