The acclaimed Peking Opera School visits Amsterdam's Muziektheater for three special performances of the Chinese work On the Waterfront (Aan de waterkant).
Traditional artistry
Aan de waterkant is based on the eponymous book - three centuries in the making - that tells the story of 108 rebels active during the Chinese Song Dynasty, a dynasty that fell in the 12th century. This opera is performed by the Peking Opera School, an academy renowned for its teachings in unbelievably complex, traditional acrobatics.
