The Manic Street Preachers return to Amsterdam for the first time in ten years for a celebration of the most successful songs of their career.
A National Treasure
In 2011, the Manic Street Preachers released the aptly titled top ten singles collection National Treasures to celebrate the 21st anniversary of their first single release. Following a celebratory sold-out show at London's O2 Arena at the end of last year, the Welsh band embark on their first European tour in ten years in April and May. National Treasures gathers 38 singles from the band's history, starting with initial Heavenly Records release 'Motown Junk' (1990) to tracks taken from last year's acclaimed Postcards from a Young Man.
Respectably aged, but never established
Now at the respectable age of 21, the Manic Street Preachers have a rich band history to look back on. Their very British rock with a punk edge and a never-waning political consciousness has earned them a place in the hearts (and record collections) of countless fans. The upcoming tour will see the band perform a selection of songs from National Treasures: a must-see for all die-hard Manic fans, as well as those wanting to get re-acquainted.
