The exhibition 'Made in Britain' can be seen from 7 September 2009 till 21 February 2010 in the Museum of Bags and Purses. English designers are renowned for their craftsmanship, quality and respect for tradition, combined with modern design. This exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of their unique creations. For this exhibition, the museum has been able to choose from the recent collections and even the catwalk collection of Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney. In addition, bags designed by Lulu Guinness, Paul Smith, Anya Hindmarch, Bill Amberg, and by brands such as Mulberry and Burberry will be on show. Bags from English designers and brands from the museum?s own collection also complement these nicely.

Five hundred years of development of bags
The Museum of Bags and Purses has a collection of over 4000 bags; this makes it the largest museum of its kind in the World. The permanent collection displays the history of the bag from the 16th century up until today.
