Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra hit Amsterdam's Paradiso for healthy doses of the boogie woogie, the rhythm & blues and the rock 'n' roll.
Claims to fame
Jools Holland has several claims to fame: firstly, he was an early member of the British pop band Squeeze in the late 70s/early 80s. But more importantly, he is the presenter of the much-loved and incredibly long-running TV music show Later... with Jools Holland that's been airing since 1992, and as the host of which he has invited a flurry of bands both famous and up-and-coming to perform on his stage and himself has grown into a doyen of pop music.
Good times, boogie woogie
And thirdly, Holland still can't resist hitting the keys himself every once in a while and therefore regularly tours with his big band. Together, they hammer out the boogie woogie, the rhythm & blues and the rock 'n' roll, with lots of brass and his typical piano violence (that's meant in a good way). In other words, there's a swinging good time to be had!
