Jerry Lee Lewis and The Memphis Beats

One of rock 'n' roll's original bad boys, Jerry Lee Lewis was born to a poor family in Louisiana and began playing piano with his two cousins Mickey Gilley and Jimmy Swaggart. He blended rhythm and blues, boogie-woogie, gospel and country to define his sound.

Goodness gracious
In 1957, after being signed by the now famous Sun Records, home to Elvis, Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash, he recorded 'Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On' and 'Great Balls of Fire' among others. Rightfully so, in 2006, he released Last Man Standing featuring many of rock 'n' roll's elite including Mick Jagger and Jimmy Page.

Live
On 29 October 2009 Lewis opened the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame 25th anniversary concert. Catch the man kick out his chair once again as he comes to the Paradiso in this, his 60th year as a performer. No doubt he'll give it his all.

Boogie Chillen' Live
Boogie Chillen' Live with Boogaloo Stomphouse - Formerly of the American surf-blues-stomp act The Lucky Strikes with a penchant for red shirts and black ties, Boogaloo Stomphouse is a one-man shakedown with guitar, vocals and harmonica. Come sinners and saints, down to the barnstorm and heed the words of Mr Boogaloo in the Paradiso's small hall after Jerry's show.
