Istanbul sacrée

In this concert you will experience the rich spiritual, still current music of Greek, Armenian, Jewish and Islamic communities. In music from the synagogue you recognize Islamic hymns, while you will find the Gregorian influence in Islamic music. An ensemble of top musicians from Istanbul brings this rich kaleidoscope to life.

Voices
The Jewish vocals are performed by Aaron Kohen Yassa and Lari Dilmen. You will hear the Armenian singers of the music group Knar and the choir of the patriarchal church of Kumkapi. The Greek song is performed by Panagiotis and Sofia Neochoritis. Ahmet Sahin and Hafiz Yunus are famous precentors of mosques in Istanbul. With their ensemble, Fahrettin and Feruh Yarkin provide musical accompaniment.
