Female Music Marathon

Vrouwenmuziekmaraton - Foto: Janica Draisma

On International Women's Day, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw stages an extraordinary concert featuring four of the Netherlands' most renowned female vocalists.

Female composers, female interpreters

Sopranos Roberta Alexander and Irene Maessen & mezzo-sopranos Tania Kross and Karin Strobos will all grace the stage. And staying true to the evening's theme, they will perform only music by female composers: Works by Hildegard von Bingen, Clara Schumann, Lili Boulanger, Alma Mahler and Cathy Berberian are all included. The singers are accompanied on piano by Reinild Mees.
