Erick Beltrán - The World Explained

View:
The world explained

The Mexican artist Erick Beltrán presents his new art project The World Explained, for which he and a team of anthropologists interviewed Amsterdammers about their personal theories about a wide range of big questions.

Big questions

How do blind people experience colour? How can making jokes help prevent wars? What is emotion? These are some of the questions posed to inhabitants of Amsterdam. Their answers and theories are collected in a contemporary encyclopaedia.

Add your own theories

Visitors to the exhibition can add their own ideas. These will immediately be added to the work using three printing presses that have been installed in a hall of the museum, transforming it into a lively print shop.
