David Byrne

David Byrne
David Byrne (1952) became popular as the frontman of the post punk / new wave band Talking Heads, which ruled the charts in the late seventies / early nineties with hits like 'Stop making sense' and 'Road to nowhere', with indelible videos and theatrical live shows.

Heads influence
The Talking Heads has without a doubt been a strong influence on the many bands which followed, like Radiohead, The Rapture, LCD Soundsystem, The Arcade Fire and Vampire Weekend.

Renaissance man
David Byrne is not only praised for his musical talent as a singer, guitar player and producer, but also for his work in other artistic fields including film, ballet, opera, choreography and visual arts.
