David Byrne (1952) became popular as the frontman of the post punk / new wave band Talking Heads, which ruled the charts in the late seventies / early nineties with hits like 'Stop making sense' and 'Road to nowhere', with indelible videos and theatrical live shows.

The Talking Heads has without a doubt been a strong influence on the many bands which followed, like Radiohead, The Rapture, LCD Soundsystem, The Arcade Fire and Vampire Weekend.
