Cultuur Couture

Students attending the prominent Antwerp Fashion Academy are given a specific project each year. Third-year students are set the task of designing a traditional item of clothing originating from a world culture of their choice. During the year, they produce a replica of the selected item of clothing and draw inspiration from this piece to design a contemporary collection.

Extensive exhibition
The exhibition displays the work of four young designers and will include the replica of the traditional item of clothing, the contemporary design, extraordinary sketchbooks, video portraits of the designers and a film of the students presenting their work.
