Black's brainchild
Conceived by American stand-up comedian Lewis Black back in the early nineties, the Comedy Explosion has come a long way from small beginnings. Black's politically-edged comedy was getting a rather cool reception in America at the time but the stand-up phenomenon was gaining speed in the Netherlands, providing the perfect launch pad for his comedy collective. Under Lewis, the first generation of Dutch stand-uppers trod the boards.
Killer collective
A host of established names including Claudia de Breij and Javier Guzman are part of the Comedy Explosion and there is more up-and-coming talent than you can shake a stick at.
