What is man's position on gluttony, wrath, envy and the other seven deadly sins? In Carnival of Guilt a dictatorial therapist relieves people of their afflictions. This dance performance, full of big and small 'sinners', centres around religion, guilt and punishment. The sinners will be punished for their lies, adultery, jealousy and blasphemy with eternity in a hellish carnival.
The meaning of hell
Carnival of guilt is based on two workshops with unschooled youths, one in Ghent and one in Amsterdam (in collaboration with youth theatre 020). A joint search for the meaning of hell in different cultures, resulted in the creation of this new show, in which professional dancers will represent the youngsters.
