With his mostly instrumental hip hop and a CV full of various collaborations and remixes, LA-based DJ and producer Boom Bip is at the heart of the experimental hip hop scene. While his most recent offering was a collaboration with the Super Furry Animals' Gruff Rhys under the moniker Neon Neon, Boom Bip is now back with a new solo record: Zig Zag is due out at the end of September.

Illustrious guests

Zig Zag features illustrious guests such as Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos, Money Mark and Empire of the Sun's Luke Steele, as well as the Red Hot Chili Peppers' new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. And while they might not accompany him to Amsterdam, there's no need to fear a lone-person-with-a-laptop kind of performance: Boom Bip has been know to tour with a full band in addition to all the gadgets.
