Following the success of the first season of live high-definition screenings of Bolshoi Ballet productions, Pathé returns with a new series of five fantastic ballets. Screenings in Amsterdam will be held at the Pathé Tuschinski cinema.
Icon of Russian culture
Founded in 1776, the Bolshoi Ballet is an icon of Russian culture and traditions. The organisation is renowned the world over for its sublime productions and broad repertoire. Using ten cameras to capture all the action, the ballets will be filmed live, beamed from Moscow to Amsterdam via satellite and screened in high definition with 5.1 digital sound.
Raymonda
A three act ballet (four scenes with an apotheosis), Raymonda was choreographed by Marius Petipa, with music by Alexander Glazunov. It was first presented by the Imperial Ballet at the Imperial Mariinsky Theatre in 1898.
