Born in Morocco, celebrated author Abdelkader Benali headed to the Netherlands in 1979 and has lived in Amsterdam for the last eight years. In this unique evening at the Amsterdam Public Library, he selects a film to be screened. After the film, Benali will discuss his selection with the audience.
Stolen
Benali's selection begins as a film about family memories of a refugee camp in Algeria, run by the Polisario Liberation Front. As the refugee family imparts more of their sad story, the painful truth of the slavery in action in the camp becomes clearer.
