Amsterdam's Allard Pierson Museum presents a Photo exhibition focusing on Hadrian's Wall. A Stone Frontier runs until 29 August.

Built in 122 AD, the wall represented the reach of the Roman Empire in Great Britain. Although in a slightly less imposing state nowadays, the wall still stretches across England, just south of the border with Scotland.- Tell a friend
