The attractive Vondelkerk ('Vondel Church') stands at the edge of the Vondelpark and was in use as a church from 1880 to 1977. Nowadays it houses small businesses and the space is rented out for special occasions. The Gothic Revival church was designed by famous architect P.J.H. Cuypers, who was also responsible for the Central Station and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
