Please DO touch!
Right next to Central Station is one of the most impressive feats of modern architecture in Amsterdam: NEMO - a large, green building accommodates the largest science center in the Netherlands. The building was designed by the renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano. The roof terrace, which Piano calls a piazza (square), grants visitors a spectacular view across Amsterdam.
NEMO: play along!
Through various playful exhibitions, NEMO introduces young and old to a world of science and technology. Five floors are filled with constantly renewed exhibitions, theatre shows, films, workshops and demonstrations. Smell, hear, feel and see how the world works. Everything is interactive, so you can play along!
Science fascinates
Come to NEMO and discover how you will look in thirty years in the Age Machine. Experiment with wobbly skyscrapers in Amazing Constructions or discover what happens when you kiss in Teen Facts. Put on the chemist's lab coat and carry out experiments in NEMO's Wonder Lab. And if you wish to relax, enjoy a beverage and a snack in one of NEMO's cafes.
