Dam 20
1012 NP AMSTERDAM
Neighbourhood: Dam

In 1971, the world-famous wax figure museum, Madame Tussaud’s opened an establishment in Amsterdam - the first branch outside of the United Kingdom. At Madame Tussaud’s you can come face to face with your favourite celebrities! The resemblance of the figures is so striking, that you expect them to start moving.

Madame Tussaud's Amsterdam is an interactive experience. Not only can you do some celebrity-spotting in Amsterdam, but you can also shop 'til you drop with Jennifer Lopez, test your soccer skills against Ronaldinho, or have your picture taken with Brad Pitt. The collection of Madame Tussaud’s is updated regularly and includes Dutch celebrities and royalty.

“Madame Tussaud's” was born in France in 1761. Her mother's employer taught her how to create wax statues. When he died, Madame Tussaud’s inherited his entire collection and she took these figures on a tour which lasted 33 years. Madame Tussaud’s finally settled in London and branches of her wax museums are now in 9 international cities.

Important:
Madame Tussauds is currently undergoing renovations for a new exhibition. Due to the renovation work, certain rooms and wax figures will be off limits to the public. If you are planning to visit with the intention of seeing a specific room or wax figure, we advise contacting Madame Tussauds in advance by telephone or email to double check what is on display.
