Keukenhof

Stationsweg 166a
2161 AM LISSE
Neighbourhood: Netherlands

Keukenhof, located near Lisse about 40 kilometres from Amsterdam, is the world’s largest flower garden. This historic park brimming with tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and other spring bulbs - is the place to be in spring-time. Keukenhof is world-famous and has been one of the most popular attractions in the Netherlands for years.

Flowers everywhere
A stroll through the 32-hectare Keukenhof with its 15 kilometres of footpaths is extremely relaxing and awe-inspiring. There are over 7 million flower bulbs – planted by hand in the park – and 4,5 million tulips in 100 varieties! There is even a Walk of Fame with tulips named after famous people.

Flower exhibit
The Keukenhof garden was established in 1949 to give growers from all over Europe the opportunity to present their hybrids in a live flower exhibit. Don't forget your camera – the Keukenhof is the most photographed place in the world – which is very impressive if you think that it is only open two months of the year (mid-March to mid-May).

Cobra in the open - Garden of Karel Appel (22.03 - 21.10.2012)
Cobra in the Open, a new sculpture garden in the beautiful grounds of Keukenhof Castle, next to the world-famous flower show, opens to the public this spring. Its first exhibition is entitled ‘Garden of Karel Appel’ and features a number of the celebrated artist’s larger sculptures, displayed in an attractive woodland setting.
