’t Paardje is on a massive terrace in the centre of the Pijp neighbourhood. It is a modern 'brown' café, where easygoing young locals and older regulars rub shoulders. The walls are silver-coloured or have flowered wallpaper and there is a U-shaped black and white bar. It is not only a pub: there is a choice from the French bistro menu with dishes such as oysters, snails and bouillabaisse- much in vogue with the thirty-somethings.
