Dutch Resistance Museum

Plantage Kerklaan 61
1018 CX AMSTERDAM
Neighbourhood: Plantagebuurt

Amsterdam's Resistance Museum (Versetzmuseum) details the history of the Dutch Resistance in World War II, following occupation by Germany in 1940. Visitors will experience the mood of the war years as they take a walk through the Netherlands before, during and after World War II.

The Dutch Resistance
Resistance activities took many forms, from small individual acts like sticking postage stamps displaying the monarch's head up in the living room to spying for the Allies, helping people go underground to distributing illegal newspapers to keep the population informed. All of this is accounted at the Resistance Museum in a moving way.

Permanent exhibition
The museum is extremely interactive and includes a wealth of fascinating artefacts such as false identity documents, clandestine newspaper presses and spy paraphernalia. The permanent exhibition takes visitors back to the thirties and forties by using life-like street scenes and house interiors.
