Das Wella Warenhaus is situated in Wella’s old head office in the Keizersgracht, a ‘house’ for young designers. The roomy space has been painted completely in white and is full of original items. Clothes, furniture, shoes, dog outfits, bags, paintings and mirrors: what is unusual about these handmade items is that they are all mostly one-offs. Here one finds fashionable outfits rubbing shoulders with a rocking chair constructed from old café chairs and a lamp made from aluminium salad bowls from IKEA.
